Each wedding is unique and lovely in its own way. From black tie rooftop receptions in NY to small, ornate ballroom affairs in Paris or from elegant beach weddings to intimate wedding dinners, tucked away in the olive groves of Puglia. Being in love and engaged is one of the great joys in life we believe.. you both decided to spend the rest of your lives together. And when it comes to planning that special day, AKA your dream wedding, possibilities are countless.
Every year together with renowned vendors from the wedding industry, we share wedding ideas to inspire you. Previous wedding ideas such as a Parisian style black tie wedding and the rustic elegance of a fall wedding in the countryside.
For couples who dream of planning a destination wedding in Italy, this one’s for you!
This inspiring editorial came about because we believe in the growing potential of a nearly undiscovered rural region of Puglia as a wonderful place to tie the knot in style.
Puglia, a beautiful rural region in South-East Italy, yet still undiscovered is definitely worthy of your next holiday and could very well house the place where you see yourselves tying the knot. Known almost solely by celebrities and seen here and there (most famous is probably the wedding scenes of the LA tv-series The Bold & The Beautiful), the region is a hidden gem.
I recall looking outside the window flying over the Adriatic and seeing white cliffs and blue waters one can only imagine in dreams. ( You can definitely expect me to take you to the water for some breathtaking romantic shots.)
Driving through the landscapes is absolutely amazing.. I mean when did I ever see such numerous and huge olive trees?! (And I have been in Italy quiet a lot!)
We love the idea of celebrating your wedding at an authentic masseria.
Helena kept the styling true to the regions’ simple and pure lifestyle by the choice of implementing organic styling materials which are locally produced such as fruits & vegetables and even snapped olive tree branches for organic decor purposes. Do you love the idea of a delicious Italian menu with the best products? Did I mention how delicious their breakfast is? Foodies be warned!
In the olive grove which stretches far beyond the masseria, we installed the ceremony inside a secret and ancient cave that used to be a church. The entry to the cave is a path made out of historical rocks, and disappears into the dark opening of the cave where the old fig trees root. The cave still has some frescos intact and an altar which Helena dressed with white candles and greenery. It is places like this that really tell the magic of Puglia as there are many stories still to be revealed such as solving the mysterious reason the Trulli’s were built.
Having your wedding at Masseria San Franscesco is not only perfect if you want to throw a memorable alfresco ceremony in the olive grove and wedding dinner under the stars, it extends its services far beyond with the capacity to accommodate the bridal couple and guests in its comfortable and luxurious rooms & suites. To turn your wedding day into a once-in-a-lifetime experience, couples can easily turn their wedding day into a long weekend or a holiday with activities such as olive oil tasting, wine tasting and other activities and facilities that can be arranged as desired.
Imagine walking down the aisle (the olive grove) with your beloved ones present, toasting & anti pasti under the sun, a romantic photo session on the rooftop of your suite, in the white city of Ostuni and kisses on the white cliffs, alfresco dining in good company and excellent wine followed by dancing.. black tie or bare foot boho chic? Yes darlings, with a little help from my friends!
We would love to help you create the wedding of your dreams! Check out our vendor list below the images.
